Message from Mrs. Shelley

Dear Parents, I would like to introduce myself to some parents, and reacquaint myself to those parents who knew me a few years ago. My name is Shelley Schutlz and I am the new – and returning – guidance counselor.  I will be working with students a couple of days a month for now and starting in January, I will be at school one week a month.

Please feel free to contact me on my work phone, either by text or calling: 727.318.7414 if you have any questions or concerns… or just to say ‘Hi!”

I am thrilled to be back!

Best wishes for a wonderful school year,

-Mrs. Shelley

Staffing Update

Ms. Sarah Butler, our school’s Music Enrichment Instructor was recently offered and has accepted full-time employment as a classroom teacher at Big Pine Academy Charter School.   She will be making the transition to that position beginning 14 November – we wish her well as she begins this new professional journey.

Beginning 14 November, Ms. Rachel, who has been assisting in the Conch classroom, will transition to her new position as Music Enrichment Instructor.  She will also serve as a member of our School Support Team for student mealtimes, recess, and our Extended School Day program. We look forward to having Ms. Rachel share her musical talents with our students, and offer her creativity to expand our Extended School Day programming.

Blood Drive Thursday!

Did you know: OneBlood gives our school $10 for each blood donor? We have an event posted on social media, and it would boost participation if everyone would invite their network to this Thursday’s event; sharing is great, but inviting is better! As an incentive for donors, OneBlood will have a Fandango movie voucher for everyone who donates, and KWMCS families who donate blood during our event will also earn two service hour points! We had 27 donors at our last event in September – This is a link to our event page – thanks for sharing and inviting friends, too!

Support Students @ Walk on White

Come by the Stone Soup Gallery to shop for yummy baked goods and find some holiday ornaments for your tree, or to give as beautiful and thoughtful homemade gifts. All proceeds will benefit the end-of-year trip for the upper elementary and early secondary students. The event has been posted to social media and we encourage families to invite their network of friends & colleagues, too!
