All-School Meeting Tomorrow!
This is a friendly reminder that our first School Community meeting of the school year will take place tomorrow, August 24 at 6:00 in the Blue Tang Classroom. Child care will be available onsite. Each classroom will host a welcome half-hour beginning at 5:30, so that families can become acquainted with their student’s Guide and Classroom Assistant. All-school meetings are scheduled three times a year for families to learn about the progress and developments of our children’s school. KWMCS families are required to attend at least two of the three meetings per school year. All school meetings (and other important event dates) are listed on our school’s ‘Calendar of Events’ page.
Enrichment Classes
Our Enrichment classes began today! All students will participate in Art, Physical Education, and Music Theory & Appreciation classes throughout the school year. Students in our Lower and Upper Elementary programs will also participate in Spanish enrichment classes, and our Early Secondary students have the opportunity to participate in tennis and sailing class.
School Lunch Program
KWMCS participates in the National School Lunch program. Families can apply for free or reduced priced meals online: https://meals.monroe.k12.fl.us/, and we also have a PDF copy of the application in our school office. The cost of school lunch is as follows:
Paid Lunch (grades K – 5) $2.50 (grades 6 -8) $2.85
Reduced price lunch 40 cents
Adults: $3.60
Meal orders must be submitted through the school, by 9:00 each morning. Payment is best made online for lunches via this link: https://www.mypaymentsplus.com/default.aspx Families will need to enter their student’s unique ID number to pay for lunches online. Families can request their student’s ID in the front office, with Ms. Tonia.
The daily menu for KWMCS is:
Wraps – turkey, ham, or chicken
Sandwiches – turkey, ham, chicken, or PB&J with a cheese stick
Chef Salads – turkey, ham or chicken
Yogurt meal – 4 oz. yogurt, hard-boiled egg, muffin
In addition, each meal will have:
8 oz of milk – chocolate or white (please specify)
4 oz of juice
½ cup fruit
1 cup of cold vegetables

Lower Elementary: 11:30-11:55 Children’s House: 11:00-11:25
Upper Elementary: 12:00-12:30 Early Secondary: 12:00-12:30
KWMCS Blood Drive
Our first blood drive of the school year will take place next Thursday, September 1st.Hosting regular blood drives benefits our community and KWMCS as well; OneBlood gives our school $10 for each blood donor! As an incentive for donors, OneBlood will have a Fandango movie voucher for everyone who donates, and KWMCS families who donate blood during our event will also earn two service hour points – be sure to sign up today!
