All parents are requested to participate in a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. next Thursday (5/21/2020) for parent elections to the Charter Board; the terms for three (3) parent seats on the Charter Board expire at the end of this month. Parents interested in serving on the Charter Board should complete an electronic Intent to Serve Form by this Friday (5/15/2020) (link address: https://forms.gle/sU4fAjtQ2tYVc4sA7) Also, parents will be asked to approve a proposed amendment to the bylaws:
(proposed 15.)The Board of Directors shall abide by the laws, ordinances, and codes that apply to public charter schools. According to the requirements of Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 6A-6.0784, each member shall participate in governance training that has been approved by the Florida Department of Education within 90 days of joining the charter school board. Specifically, Each governing board member must complete a minimum of four (4) hours of instruction focusing on government in the sunshine, conflicts of interest, ethics, and financial responsibility as specified in section 1002.33(9)(k), F.S.
