This is a friendly reminder that student envelopes with completed paperwork is due to the school office; thank you for turning in your student’s forms.
Enrichment classes began today; students will have Art with Ms. Bria, Music with Ms. Rachel, PE with Mrs. Sam, and special CARE time with Mrs. Heather. Lower Elementary students also have Spanish with Ms. Gabriela, Upper Elementary students have Spanish with Ms. Zurima, and Early Secondary students have Spanish with Mrs. Georgina.
*Please be sure your student brings a reusable water bottle to school each day, and wears sneakers on PE day*
All-School Meeting
Our first All-School meeting of the 2018 school year will take place tomorrow (8/23/17) from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Blue Tang classroom. One representative from each family needs to be present for the meeting, as we have a lot of important information to share. We do not have child care available for this event. Blood Drive
Hosting regular blood drives benefits our community and May Sands Montessori as well; OneBlood gives our school $10 for each blood donor! As an incentive for donors, OneBlood will have a Fandango movie voucher for everyone who donates, and May Sands families who donate blood during our event will also earn two service hour points – be sure to sign up today! Family Dine-out
Our first family fundraising event of the school year takes place this Thursday, August 24th from 5:30 – 9:30 at Mangia Mangia! Restauranteurs Mike and Heather Barnes will donate a portion of the evening’s sales to May Sands Montessori! School Meals
May Sands Montessori participates in the National School Lunch program, with meals prepared specially for us at the Key West High School cafeteria. Breakfast is available from 7:45-8:15 for those who have pre-ordered (the day before), and lunch is available, daily, if ordered by 8:45. If your student will be late to school, please ensure s/he has packed a lunch. School lunch order forms are available on our website: http://maysandsmontessori.com/resources/may-sands-students/
Meal prices are as follows:
Grades K-5: $1.75 breakfast, $2.50 lunch
Grades 6-8: $1.75 breakfast, $2.85 lunch
Students qualifying for reduced price: $.30 breakfast, $.40 lunch
Students may order lunch at our neighbor, the MARC Rainbow Café before arriving to school. Payment is made directly to the Rainbow Café upon ordering, and their menu changes weekly. Because our school policies prohibit sodas and recommend avoiding artificial colors, please refrain from ordering these types of beverages from the Rainbow Café. Thanks, too, for indicating whether your child is in first (Primary, Lower Elementary) or second (Upper Elementary, Early Secondary) seating for lunch.
