Florida Family Engagement in Education Month

The Florida Department of Education has designated November as Family Engagement in Education Month to celebrate and highlight the importance of parent and family involvement in their student’s education. At KWMCS we encourage a strong home+school connection because we know that students achieve more when we work together.  Thank you for staying informed and for continuing to make your student’s education a top priority.

*Today is National Family Literacy Day – take time to read a book together, and share your photo on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KeyWestMontessori/

Five Guys & Two Scoops Family Dine Out

Thanks to our friends at Five Guys and Two Scoops, the first Wednesday of each month will be a fundraising opportunity for our school! Encourage your friends, extended family, and teammates to join us at the Five Guys location in the Winn-Dixie Shopping Plaza (2814 N Roosevelt Blvd ) from 5:30-8:30 tomorrow. Our friends at Five Guys will donate a portion of the night’s sales back to our school! Last month our school received a $500 donation for our participation!

Blood Drive November 10

Hosting regular blood drives benefits our community and KWMCS as well; OneBlood gives our school $10 for each blood donor! As an incentive for donors, OneBlood will have a Fandango movie voucher for everyone who donates, and KWMCS families who donate blood during our event will also earn two service hour points – be sure to sign up today! This is a link for anyone who wants to skip a line and book the online appointment (not required, but strongly recommended for those with busy schedules):click to schedule appointment

Holiday Bazaar & Recycled Reads Book Fair

In addition to a variety of vendors at our Holiday Bazaar, we are featuring a pre-owned book fair!  Students and their family are encouraged to bring in gently used books for the book fair; we have bins in the classroom for your donations.  Students will receive ticket credits for book donations that may be used for a book exchange during the Saturday event. Families interested in hosting a vendor booth should contact event coordinator Lynne Ragusea: 305.394.7511 [email protected]
