Many thanks to everyone who helped make our Great Gala a successful fundraiser; first estimates from sales indicate we raised about $30,000 for our tuition-free Montessori programming! It is through the combined efforts of our staff, school families, and our generous island community that the May Sands Montessori School continues to be a nurturing place for students to grow!

Upper Elementary Performance

Members of our Upper Elementary program have been working on a musical performance, and they are looking forward to performing for you!  Our whole school family is invited to a free performance at the San Carlos Theater on Sunday, February 5th @ 4:00 for Dig It, a musical tale of ancient civilizations.  This free, hour-long performance is tied to the Upper Elementary students’ cultural focus for the school year; watch history come alive! The students have been working under the direction of talented artists Robin Kaplan, Penny Leto, and Lauren Thompson, and we’d love to have a packed theater!  Invite your friends and join us @ 4:00 on February 5th!

Parent Information Night

Join members of our staff from 6:00-7:00 on Wednesday, February 1st as we explore: Supporting Academics at Home.  Families will learn practical ways to incorporate developmental skill practice in the home and hear creative strategies to encourage learning anytime and anywhere. Two service hour points will be awarded for parent participation.

Campus Tidy-up

Our school campus is in need of a little TLC! This is a call to action for all helping hands to join in support of beautifying our students’ campus: Saturday, February 11th 9:00-12:00.  Double Service Hours will be awarded to volunteers!

Progress Reporting & Conferences

Our school programs present formal reports of progress at least twice a year, while students in their sixth, seventh, and eighth year at May Sands Montessori School receive quarterly reports of progress. Lead Guides have been working on completing student progress reports and will be distributing them within the next week.  All families should plan on attending our second round of conferences, which take place Wednesday, February 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Be sure to sign up with your student’s guide; class-wide messages were recently shared.
