|One of the most exciting moments at the beginning of every Montessori school year happens when the Elementary Lead Guides present the First Great Lesson, the Coming of the Universe. Dr. Montessori believed that our work as educators should be to spark curiosity and to encourage discovery, and the First Great Lesson offers the whole of the universe as a launching point for students to ponder. As a Montessori practitioner, I was honored to be a part of the lesson for our Upper Elementary students last week. This week our Lower Elementary students will have their special presentation.
This year we invite families to learn more about our programs and practices. Our Lead Guides are providing ‘Office Hours’ in their classrooms where your student can share their works with you in their learning environment – be sure to check with your student’s Guide. We are also planning a school-wide event to take place later this month, where students and families can join together on campus, after hours! Primary Kindergarten ~ $25
May Sands Montessori School has purchased school supplies for all program levels; this includes all periodical subscriptions, paper, pencils, notebooks, glue, and other consumable student supplies. Payment may be made by cash or check (payable to May Sands Montessori) – please be sure to secure your payment in a sealed envelope that is labeled with your student’s name and ‘Supply Fee’ in Ms. Pam’s office or the gray payment box (in the office) by 15 September.
