We had high attendance at our All-School meeting last week; thank you for making time for your child’s school. Families who were unable to attend last week’s meeting will need to attend the January (1/24) and May (5/23) meetings to maintain compliance with our School Family Commitment.

Family Dine Out
Last week’s dining fundraiser at Mangia Mangia raised $300 for our school’s specialized Montessori programming! Many thanks to Heather and Mike Barnes for their support of tuition-free Montessori education in Key West! There will be another Family Dine out at Mangia Mangia this Thursday, in celebration of Dr. Maria Montessori’s Birthday! Service Hour Project: Fundraising Opportunity
Our school has an opportunity to sell pretzel necklaces at this weekend’s Brewfest; parent board member/Vice President Melissa Trader will be set up at a table during the event. We have the supplies needed to get the project completed before the event (Saturday, 9/2 @ 3:00), and this is a service hour project that can be completed in the comfort of your own home! We are looking for four volunteers to complete 50 necklaces, each. Please contact Ms. Tonia to sign up for this fundraising project.
Parent Development Night
Our first parent information night takes place Wednesday, September 6th from 6-7 pm on campus, and the topic is This is Montessori. Families new to our school will come away with a better understanding of our pedagogy. Two service hours will be awarded for parent participation!
Campus Tidy-up
Our next opportunity to beautify the campus takes place from 9-12 on Saturday, September 9th. Projects include weeding the grounds, planting groundcover at the front fence, painting, pressure washing sidewalks and the lunch area, washing windows, and a few other projects. Ms. Tonia has a more complete list – be sure to check in with her!
Fundraising Support Needed
Our next fundraiser takes place Sunday, September 10th from 12-3: Duval Ice Cream Crawl is a family-friendly event. While we have an online sign up running, we need volunteers on the day of the event for last-minute registration. The Fundraising Team is seeking three volunteers to register participants at Tattoos & Scars from 11-1. Please Speak with Ms. Tonia to sign up!
Spirit T-shirts
Our school shirts are a great way to help make getting dressed a little easier in the morning! Made locally, our spirit shirts come in a variety of colors. Each class has selected their favorite color to wear for field trips, but your student might like one in a few different colors!
