Today’s principals’ phone conference was positive and productive; the Superintendent has set September 25th as the targeted date to resume classes, but added that we’ll have to stay abreast of any county infrastructure updates on the restoration of utilities, which might affect our reopening.  He has asked all staff to plan on reporting back next Thursday and Friday to help prepare our schools for students’ re-entry.  District building staff has been inspecting all facilities for safety and with the exception of Big Pine Charter School, all facilities are in good shape.  Big Pine Charter sustained damage to three portable classrooms and main office, and had flooding of its first floor.

Superintendent Porter said he will continue delivering updates, and there is another principals’ call set for Monday @ 2:00. I will pass along all information as it becomes available.

If everyone could please stay in touch and make tentative plans for our return – school staff reporting next Thursday (9/21 the International Day of Peace) at 8:30, and students tentatively Monday, September 25th by 8:25.
