Hello Montessori Families & Friends!
I appreciate your support as we carve these new pathways to learning; our school’s staff is working quickly to adapt to a new format for instruction and developing processes to keep our community connected under the circumstances.  I’m hosting a Google Meet this Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. where all members of our school family can learn about our home-based initiative – use the link that was sent to the email address we have on file for you to join.

Our school building remains closed, but our staff continues to prepare Chromebooks for distribution; all students will need a device to connect to our Google Classrooms, beginning next week so please send a message to Mrs. Tracey and she will get the paperwork to you, promptly!
*A few families already picked up a Chromebook for their child, and have reported trouble logging on to the Internet.  The Monroe County School District (MCSD) has not yet finished working through the remote access features that will facilitate a safe online experience for our students so please be patient as they work through their security protocols.

Please look for a message from your child’s Lead Guide, today, which will include information on how we are preparing for the new instruction format. You will receive more detailed information as we get closer to our first day of learning online, together.

Your Child’s Lead Guide is building a Google Classroom, which will be open and accessible on Monday, March 30th.  The MCSD anticipates it will take up to two days to work through the new system so our Lead Guides will have initial activities posted to engage students until the first day of formal instruction, April 1st.  We expect all students will be in attendance by April 1st.

Until then, please check out our website for non-classroom-based activities to keep our students engaged during the extended interruption from school, and please join me this Friday for our first Google Meet event!

 Wishing everyone a peaceful evening,

Lynn
