Our friends at the Key West High Cafeteria are preparing a Thanksgiving meal for school lunch tomorrow! Students who order school lunch tomorrow will have:
Turkey
Mashed potatoes w/ gravy
Green beans
Stuffing
Sweet potatoes
Roll
Cranberry sauce
Apple crisp
*Regular school lunch will resume Thursday.
MindUP Training
Our school staff will receive training next Monday for MindUP, the science-based, social and emotional learning (SEL) program that promotes mindful practice for the purpose of increasing self-awareness and the positive management of emotions. A key component of MindUP includes school family engagement, to provide triangulation of support for students to acquire and develop skill with managing their emotions and behavior in a healthy and productive manner.
Special flyers were sent to each family today – thank you for checking your student’s folder and saving the date/time to attend. An electronic invitation will be sent separately to all families, as well. We are seeking full participation in the MindUP program so that it can be implemented with fidelity; thank you for honoring our school+home partnership!
One Human Race Colorful Run 5K
Registration is open for our annual race! This year’s event is going to be merry and bright, as event organizers Amy Bradshaw and Andrea Ippolito are adding a splash of color to our colorful run!
