Student Art Exhibition & Auction

Stone Soup Gallery will host their annual Art and Wine Auction at 802 White Street to benefit May Sands Montessori this Sunday from 2-5 pm. This fundraiser will feature one-of-a-kind art created by each of our students!

Tickets for the auction can be purchased via this link: https://www.flipcause.com/secure/event_step2/MzM1NTE=/24312 and will be available at the door.  Your ticket price of $20 includes food and wine (for those over-21) as well as access to the bidding and a discount on framing – $40 dollars for each piece purchased.   There will be a delicious selection of wines provided by 22&Co., and savory hors d’oeuvres by chef, health coach, and Montessori parent Layla Barr.

Annual Fund Match

We have an opportunity to double our Annual Fund campaign efforts within the next thirty days! From today until our All-school meeting (5/23) any donations made to the school’s Annual Fund campaign will be matched by a generous donor up to $10,000!

Families can pay by check, cash, or follow this link for credit card processing:  https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MjI0MDk=

The Annual Fund was created to support free, public Montessori education for students in Key West & the Lower Keys. Our public charter school relies, in part, on donations to cover the gap in funding that is required to provide authentic Montessori programming.  Monetary contributions made by families and Charter friends who support Montessori as an alternative education model ensures that our program will be offered, regardless of State and local budget shortfalls. Donations made to the Annual Fund are tax deductible.

Kinetic Sculpture

The Papio Kinetic Parade takes place on 5 May and our supporting artist, Steve Linden, started creating the structure yesterday at our first after school workshop.  Parents, students, and staff are invited to help craft our school’s parade entry, and service hours will be awarded for parent support!  Students participating without parent support will need to register for our Extended Day After School program.  Steve will be working throughout the week, beginning @ 4:00 and welcomes helping hands.

Parent Meeting

Families who were new to May Sands Montessori during the 2018 school year will meet with Mrs. Heather this Friday, 4/27 @ 8:30 in the Art/Science room. We are seeking constructive feedback to assist the school in welcoming the new families next year.  Each family that attends will earn a service hour for their participation!

Save the Date

Our annual Moving Up & Graduation ceremony will take place on June 1st – our last day of school
